Abstract: The tools available to geologists to characterize and understand earth systems are rapidly evolving. Technology that was consider "nifty" graduate school research a few years ago, is now common place in the applied earth sciences. This has been particularly true in the field of landslide characterization. This talk will provide a review of various data sources available to professionals that can enable them to more rapidly assess and characterize landslide hazards. We'll also dive into the advantages and limitations of various techniques. Open discussion will be encouraged.
